A new module, on by default. A tag is a saved reply: your rules, the server address, how to get a role. Write it once and anyone can call it up.

  • Use one: /tag rules. Words after the name go into the answer
  • Make one: /tag create rules Be kind. No spam., or /tag create on its own for a form
  • Names with spaces: up to 5 words, like server ip. The longest name that exists wins, so /tag alolan muk finds alolan muk even when alolan is a tag too
  • Other names: up to 5 per tag (/tag alias)
  • Looks: text, an embed, or on Discord a layout built on the dashboard
  • Find them: /tag list (most used first), /tag search, /tag info, /tag raw, /tag stats
  • Owners: whoever makes a tag owns it; /tag claim and /tag transfer move it, /tag purge clears a member's tags
  • Moving tags: /tag export gives you a file, /tag import loads it into another server
  • Limits: 1,000 tags a server, 15 a member by default (moderators unlimited)

Auto-responses

Give a tag triggers and it answers a member's message by itself, with no command.

  • Five kinds: has the word, contains, starts with, is exactly, or a pattern (a regular expression, checked so it can't be slow)
  • /tag trigger add ip contains server ip, up to 5 triggers a tag and 30 tags a server
  • Capitals never matter; bots and commands are never answered; one message gets one answer unless you allow up to 3 (/tag config permessage)
  • Keep them out of channels with /tag config ignore

Placeholders

Words in braces that fill themselves in each time a tag is used.

  • Who: {user} (pinged), {reply} (the member they replied to, pinged), {target}, their names and IDs, {user.avatar}
  • Where: {server}, {membercount}, {channel}
  • What they typed: {args}, and {1} to {9} for single words
  • Choices: {random:Heads|Tails}, {range:1-6}, {if:{1}==yes|Great!|Maybe next time}, {upper:โ€ฆ}, {lower:โ€ฆ}
  • /tag placeholders lists them all; the docs have recipes to copy

Answering for you

Point someone to a tag without typing it out: reply to their message with /tag rules. Dexy answers their message, pings them, and {reply} is them.

  • Slash commands can't reply to a message, so type it with the prefix for this
  • {if:{reply}|Hey {reply}, here are the rules:|Here are the rules:} says it differently for each
  • Turn it off for a tag with /tag rule rules followreply off
  • Pings: {user} and {reply} ping; other members a tag names only when its mentions rule is on; roles and everyone never do

Making and changing tags

  • Rules for each tag: only or never some roles and channels, a cooldown per member, channel or server, where it answers (here, as a reply, by DM or in another channel), deleting the call, reactions, and deleting the answer after a while: /tag rule
  • Who makes tags: moderators and the roles you pick, or everyone (/tag config)
  • On Discord: /tag create, /tag edit and /tag delete open an editor with buttons and forms for every part, a Try it button that shows you the answer, and a placeholder guide. It keeps working after Dexy restarts
  • On the dashboard: a Tags page with every tag as it's called, search, and an editor with a live preview beside it

Logging

  • Deleted images now show in the attachment log: the first full size in the post, up to 3 more under it. Dexy fetches them the moment the message is deleted, while they can still be fetched; other files are listed by name and size as before

Update notes

When Dexy updates, your commands also show you what's new, like this, until you've read it.

  • Got it (โœ… on Fluxer) marks the release read, and so does reading it all; the next release shows again
  • At most once a minute, and never after /help or /changelog
  • /changelog off stops these for good; /changelog on brings them back
  • /changelog shows every release whenever you like
